Playce recently provided assistance in creating a new nature play space for the Parkside Kindergarten in Box Hill North, VIC. Focusing on social spaces, exploratory & cognitive play and increasing the sensory experience of the outdoor areas, Playce developed a ‘dry creek bed’ corridor by placing mud stone boulders and logs around a central granitic sand hollow that links existing dirt and sand pits. This ensures there are areas for the students to sit, explore and enjoy together in this shaded more passive space whilst surrounded by a range of interesting sensory plants. To complement these spaces are some simple sculptural log play elements.
