Legacy Park Playground
Tasmania’s premier regional play space, the Legacy Park project is a celebration of the rugged beauty of Tasmania’s wilderness. Designed as a series of terraces that reflect the Organ Pipes dolerite rock formations that sit in the distant backdrop of the space at Mt Wellington, there are a multitude of natural rock scramble and bouldering walls, feature cubbies, areas of water and sand play and a bespoke feature climbing tower designed by Playce. Complemented with a very popular award-winning public Pizza pavilion, the space has become a significant community hub. Parkour has also become a popular use of the space, given the natural large rocks providing great vaulting and jumping opportunities.
